My history with Gen Z...

Hannah Ploegstra
  • I was married to John in 1995, we have four kids, born in 2000, 2002, 2006, 2009. If that's not Gen Z idk what is.

  • Stay-at-home mom from 2004-2026, front row seat to all things Gen Z. I watched it unfold before my eyes - what Gen Z grew up in was beyond what anyone my age has ever seen or experienced. I worked hard to understand how it was affecting my kids...and their friends.

  • 2011-2019 we watched a LOT of movies, our family, my kids' friends. My English degree came in handy and I started using stories to help young adults sort out their own real life experiences. Attended John Truby's "Anatomy of Story" conference in person, been obsessed ever since. iykyk

  • 2016-present, Gen Z high school and college students started talking to me about their anxiety, confusion, addiction, and deep disappointment over what the world is turning out to be.

  • 2020-2026, parents of Gen Z opened Brineknit nonprofit, gave me a house in town to use for meetings, and unleashed me to reach Gen Z in our local community. I got lots of training (there's no degree in "Gen Z" but I patched it) and here we are.

Coaching with Hannah...

  • People often talk to me about getting unstuck or how to finally take that step they know they need

  • I love being a female voice in young men's lives. The men who find me helpful want to learn practical ways of communicating better, gaining emotional skills (living in joy and peace, regulating without use of unhealthy coping mechanisms, being safe in negative emotions), and being more mature in relationships (especially with women)

  • I often find myself giving young adults a fresh view of God's love and kindness, and learning new ways of relating to him that aren't so heavy, harsh, or religious/performance oriented. I help people discover the "Father" in God

  • People say I listen well and that I see them in ways they haven't seen themselves before

  • I like the long, slow approach and I'll take time to really know you and discover your core

  • I'm honest but I'm not too blunt. I know what I think but it's more important to me that you know what you think.
