Life Model 1-2-3
The Brain Science That Gen Z Needs To Understand
For almost 80 years now, western culture has been striving to "liberate" various groups of people by ungluing us from each other, particularly in family relationships. Husbands/wives, children/parents, brothers/sisters have been largely pitted against each other in various ways. We've been taught to see the "other" (whoever that may be) as an enemy, an opponent, a competitor. In short, we see each other - anyone who is not exactly like "me" - as someone who is going to get in the way of all I am supposed to be.
This could not be more distant from the way human identity - and its fulfillment (maturity) - actually works. In fact, our brains learn who we are and what our value is through interactions, relationships, conversations, and connections with other people, particularly the people in our own group who are the least like us!
In the 90's, a brain-scientist-turned-pastor named Dr. Jim Wilder (and his colleagues in various fields of expertise) started crafting what is now called the Life Model - a brilliant matrix which explains the necessary ingredients for healthy human existence over the span of a lifetime. Dr. Wilder's insights boiled the recipe down to three basic components:

01.
Relational Brain Skills
Humans learn neural pathways to joy and peace from those to whom they are vitally attached.
02.
Multigenerational Community
Humans know and grow their true identities in permanent relationships with people in every stage of life
03.
God-With-Us Lifestyle
The human brain mirrors God's divine character and is most truly fulfilled when attached to him.

At Generation Life House, we deliver Life Model™ informed content specifically aimed at Gen Z.
Since the natural rhythms of human life (as taught by the Life Model™) have largely been abandoned in our culture, it is very difficult for this generation to learn these rhythms through culture. Social media, fragmented family systems, enemy mode - these are not the means by which the human brain is designed to build an identity, or grow that identity into full maturity. And since most of the living generations are now products of the past 80 years of recklessness against the human design, there aren't a lot of healthy communities around anymore who can just pass this stuff on by osmosis.
Yet the next generations of people - Gen Beta (2025-2036), Gen Alpha (2013-2024), and Gen Z (1997-2012) - need to learn to be human together. Gen Z, next up for adult leadership, is craving a full restoration of what is natural, human, and ordinary. That's why we believe Dr. Wilder's insights were given for such a time as this. Our coaches, classes, and content all point to the natural ways God designed humans to be human. Together with Life Model Works, we want to see humans restored to all they were meant to be.
